The Cardiology Department at Doncaster and Bassetlaw Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust provides a comprehensive range of services for the management of all aspects of adult Coronary heart disease.  These services benefit from being part of the North Trent Primary Percutaneous Coronary Intervention (pPCI)  programme for the provision of acute angioplasty and stent, and for surgical revascularisation.

The department actively supports both Portfolio and non-Portfolio research in varying capacities, and works closely with a range of research partners, including those from industry, academia and other NHS Trusts.  Specialist Nurse Practitioners work in partnership with dedicated Research Nurses to support active research. Clinical colleagues in this department remain committed to delivering high-quality research outcomes for all patients using this service. 


The Cardio-Respiratory team continue to support ongoing research by providing a range of diagnostic services, including:

  • Electrocardiography
  • 24 Hour ECG and blood pressure monitoring
  • Exercise Testing
  • Rapid Access Chest Pain Clinic
  • Echocardiography (cardiac ultrasound)
  • Pacemaker implantation and follow-up
  • Coronary Angiogram
  • Lung function assessment
  • Sleep Apnoea investigation and CPAP follow-up
  • Tilt testing
